TV 1138/A: Live and Direct

For the Live and Direct module, I want to make a Morning Show, which will focus on young adults of eighteen to twenty five. The idea is to have three minute wonders on topics such as; weather, news, sports news, traffic, entertainment section, food tips for students, and art. The show would be two hours from 6:30 am until 8:30 am with two main presenters and section presenters as well. With the entertainment section, I’d like to have music, fashion and film, with a  film debate between two film critics, a set from an upcoming student band and some style tips from a fashion student.

There have been plenty of morning news shows produced already, GMTV, Daybreak and BBC Breakfast being the mainly watched ones. In America there has been a list as well, programmes such as; The Today Show or Good Morning America. I want to take ideas from the current shows and create something that will be able to grab the attention of students.

The structure of the show needs to be thought out carefully and thoroughly so there is a linked flow to all topics. Ideally, all the news (sports, traffic etc) would be in one section and presented by two presenters.

I came up with this idea whilst watching ‘This Morning’, the layout of the programme follows a pattern and the topics covered are interesting yet important for the general public to know. The idea is to encourage students to watch the news and read the papers and get involved.
